Omega Seamaster 600 Steel

During World War II, Omega shifted their efforts towards producing simple and reliable timepieces at large scale for various militaries. After the war, Omega resumed their production of consumer pieces with a new approach- the new post-war Omegas were notable for their clean, legible dials and stalwart movements, making them a popular choice for a sharp-looking everyday watch.

Of particular note in the post-war years was the introduction of the iconic Seamaster line in 1948, so named for its then-innovative waterproofing. Over time, the Seamaster name was applied to a variety of pieces with waterproof cases, from simple, time-only pieces like this one to full-fledged dive watches.

While vintage Omegas, and Seamasters in particular, have gained in popularity thanks to their affordable prices and classic looks, it has also made finding worthwhile examples a bit more difficult.

Vintage Seamasters come in a dizzying variety of configurations, but the Seamaster 600 is always a favorite. Dating to the mid 1960's, it has all of the makings of a timeless classic- a 34mm steel case with slim lugs, a clean dial, and sword hands. Inside, it's powered by a high grade Omega Caliber 600 movement.

Whether you're new to vintage or an experienced collector, it's hard to go wrong with a vintage Seamaster on your wrist.
