Junod Chronograph

Junod Chronograph

The Junod family have watches in their DNA. When Ami Junod first went into business in 1867, he was continuing in a long line of watchmakers. His father was a watchmaker, and his father before him, and his father before him.

Junod became well-renowned in his village of St. Croix for the accuracy of his work. He received readings from the Neuchâtel Observatory daily, via telegraph. Soon he was commissioned to set all the clocks in the town.

In 1889 he moved to Lausanne, and two years later opened up a store at Number 7 Rue Centrale, in the bustling center of Lausanne. After World War I, the store moved to Place Saint-François, where it exists to this day. True to tradition, Junod and his descendants kept up the family business of watchmaking, selling watches under their own name alongside the brands represented in their store: names like Longines, Gruen, and Omega, of which they were the exclusive retailer from 1914 to 1919.

This handsome chronograph dates from the 1950s. Powered by the venerable Valjoux 92 chronograph caliber, it effortlessly combines sportiness and stylishness. Though the 36mm case is sturdy, it has elegant tapered lugs, and while the numerals on the dial give it a sporty touch, those hands are nothing short of classy.

With killer looks, robust internals, and a long history, this Junod chronograph has it all.
